Run Club

Why Run Club?

Running is generally thought of as an individual sport, but there are many benefits to group running.

  • Accountability, group runs set a time and a place to ensure that you get out the door and get that run done
  • The Challenge, whether it's running a little further, or faster, running with someone else pushes you to go a little beyond what you think you can.
  • Safety, remember that old adage safety in number? It applies to running!
  • Camaraderie, running with a group builds life long friendships!

Pace Yourself

Everyone of all paces are welcome. We encourage people of similar paces to buddy up , but your free to run whatever pace you like. We either run out and backs, or loops, so other runners are generally close by even if there is a pace gap.

What to Expect

All of our Run Meet Up's are FREE! We meet up at Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park, by the playground.  We start running 5-10 minutes after start time, we'll run for about 45 minutes. If it's your first time, you'll be asked to sign a waiver.

Fix It Train It Live Run Club Rules

Self Monitor

Always be self-checking to make sure that while you’re running you’re still okay to run. Monitor for things like but not limited to heat exhaustion/stroke, hypothermia, heart problems, dizziness, dehydration, injuries (i.e. sprained ankle), and more.

Follow Pedestrian Laws

We will be meeting at parks all around the metro, running on mostly paths but some open road ways. Please make sure you obey all traffic/pedestrian laws. Things to be aware of while running include but are not limited to yielding to oncoming traffic or bikes, using crosswalks, and staying to the side of the path/road. If you own bright colors or reflective clothing, please wear it.

Be Aware

Be aware of your surroundings. This can encompass a lot of different threats and dangers such as, but not limited to: Cars, potholes, geese /wildlife, or a potential attack.

Wheels

Please leave wheels at home. This includes skateboards, bikes, roller skates and roller blades, etc.
*Running Strollers are allowed, but you are responsible for them and contents/humans inside them. If you repeatedly hit other runners with said stroller, your runner stroller privileges will be revoked.

Personal Music Players

Music is welcome, just not obstructing your ability to hear what’s going on around you.

Animals

Please leave all pets at home. It makes us sad too...BUT, this is important to prevent a potentially bad situation, and to ensure that everyone is comfortable participating,

Failure to follow these rules will result in the denial to participate in future Fix It Train It Live It events.
